HELLO SEGUIN SUNS!

As the counselor at Seguin ECC, I support and  promote the academic, personal, social, and emotional development of all students. Social and emotional learning is an important component of early school readiness and healthy child development. Research has shown that children`s development of social and emotional skills at prekindergarten age is critical for long-term school and life success.

SIX PILLARS OF CHARACTER

LCISD  utilizes the Six Pillars of Character throughout the year in guidance lessons, and as a foundation for our campus cultures.  The Six Pillars of Character are the core ethical values of CHARACTER COUNTS!
Each of The Six Pillar of Character traits are used within our CHARACTER COUNTS! program to help instill a positive school climate and a culture of kindness, making schools a safe environment for students to learn.
The traits are: Trustworthiness, Respect, Caring, Citizenship, Fairness, and Responsibility.
Guidance lessons are taught each week focusing on these character traits!

COUNSELING SERVICES PROVIDED

Individual Counseling—Includes a one-on-one meeting with a student to discuss a problem, concern, or issue in a confidential setting. The focus is on development of coping and strategy building.

Small Group Counseling—Small groups provide a wonderful way for students to make new friends and develop positive coping skills in a safe, fun environment.  Groups are offered on a needs basis.

Classroom Guidance—I meet with all classes, each week, throughout the year to present lessons that reflect the Character Traits.

School Counselors can provide Guidance Counseling. Psychotherapy is not a service provided by the school systems. If you would like a list of outside counseling resources, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be glad to help you!
